Next Neighbourhoods 2021: Super Cannes, Côte d’Azur, France
Despite its name, Super Cannes is not in Cannes at all but is located on the hillside above neighbouring Vallauris. The elevated position means that homes enjoy remarkable views over the Mediterranean, the Lérins Islands and across to Cap d’Antibes. Properties typically benefit from more generous and leafy plots while still benefiting from the proximity to the beaches of the Côte d’Azur. There is also easy access to Nice International Airport, Monaco and beyond into Italy.

Why is it primed for growth?
Demand from international buyers is starting to extend beyond the confines of neighbouring Cannes Californie and into the equally beautiful Super Cannes, where properties share many of the same attractions without the associated price tag. Developers have recognised this relative affordability and we are seeing high-quality homes being built to an international standard.
My favourite bits:
Vallauris is famed for its artistic ceramics and was once the home of Picasso, so it is well worth a trip to the old centre to peruse the local handmade pottery. For a slightly more high octane experience, less than 15 minutes’ drive will take you to La Croisette with its internationally renowned restaurants, shops and much more.
What will my money buy me?
A contemporary villa with four bedrooms, a swimming pool and sea views is typically around €3 million. With a four-bedroom apartment in central Cannes costing a similar amount, investors are increasingly looking to the high-performing villa market for rental income.
One thing the locals like to keep secret:
It’s easy to travel down to Golfe Juan where there is a marina to keep your boat. From there the whole Riviera is at your fingertips, and you can travel with ease along to the sandy beaches of Cap d’Antibes or further afield to the likes of Monaco or St Tropez
