We hope our insight over the coming months will help you in developing your digital strategy to drive transformation and ass value, all while developing your own personal digital knowledge and skillset.

Our new breakfast programme presents the Digi Bytes blog alongside four seminars. The latter will take place over the coming year in venues that challenge attendees’ perceptions of the corporate bubble.

Influential guest speakers will also be at these events to share their experiences of the various Digi Bytes topics we'll cover throughout the year.

Digi Bytes events for 2018:

Humans first, AI second - Tuesday 6th March, Southwark, London

Artificial Intelligence and robotics are radically transforming processes across a range of sectors, from accounting and risk assessment to translation and even the traditional role of a receptionist.

The vast scale of AI application is demonstrated by one particular investment bank’s report that an AI tool was capable of processing 336,000 hours’ worth of lawyers’ time in in just minutes. Investment in this space by both corporates and start-ups is transforming business – but what does it mean for the future? What is best practice for its deployment? And will future jobs emerge in order to manage and leverage AI?

Confirmed guest speakers for this event include: Wendy Redshaw, CIO Collaborative Tech Solutions; Gi Fernando, MBE founder of Freeformers; and Professor Andre Spicer of Cass Business School.

Bursting the corporate bubble

According to the HR Director of a major bank, “Corporate no longer sells”. So how do corporates change their image and create a more compelling recruitment and attraction strategy with a digital workplace at its heart?

Corporations have many positives but attempts to attract talent are undermined by negative perceptions of hierarchy, silos, poor technology, rigid and inflexible workplaces and work practices. In light of this, we ask a number of senior executives: “how can corporates re-invent themselves?”.

Creating awesome experiences

In a world where human capital is the number one critical success factor for global CEOs , the focus on experience in the workplace has never be greater. Experience requires continual management and enhancement, but it is difficult to define and even more difficult to measure. This session looks at all the dimensions of experience and seeks to help frame the answers to these questions.

Digital analytics – Big brother or Best friend?

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the mega-trend transforming our lives – but does it come at a price?

Our domestic worlds are increasingly engaging with IoT, be it to ask a question, select a song or change the lighting. Next year, all Samsung products – including fridges and washing machines – will be IoT enabled.

In the workplace, there is growing intelligence to include sensors with data driven from WiFi, access control or even the key strokes of your computer. Companies are now integrating data sources to provide real insight into workplace activity and experience, both historically, in real time and predictively. Whether spaces are in use, hot or cold, noisy or quiet, are just some of the basic functionality that can be deployed.

But there are increasing concerns around privacy, both in the workplace and at home. Many people have switched off location services, while upcoming GDPR legislation and other regulations are reacting to these concerns. This session will seek to balance the benefits and fears of workplace analytics.
