After finishing college and a brief stint working as a chef, James knew he wanted to work with people and not always be at a desk. So, when a friend at Foxtons told him about a role there, he applied. Fast-forward 16 years and he was still there! James was approached by Knight Frank in 2015 and the decision to join was a ‘no-brainer’; he immediately felt inspired by the firm’s passion and ambitious plans for the future.

James had an enormous impact on our business. He grew his service line's turnover by 40%, became an equity partner and took our London Sales sub division to new heights. Yet, his biggest impact was no doubt on the many people he worked with and mentored throughout his career. James was a natural leader - highly energised and always making time for others. He knew exactly how to get the best out of a team.

Sadly James passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in April 2024 but his legacy as one of the exceptional people of Knight Frank will live on through his achievements and the lives he touched. In the last few years James worked courageously to raise money for MND, fundraising for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, a cause which colleagues across Knight Frank will continue to support in James’ memory.
