Africa Horizons webinar series: Capitalizing on the African opportunity
1 minute to read
Africa continues to be a preferred destination for Middle Eastern investors. FDI flows from the UAE have grown consistently over the past decade to rank amongst the top10 FDI source countries for Africa. The value of non-oil trade between the UAE and Africa totalled US$40.7 billion in the first nine months of 2020, compared to $36.9 billion in the same period of 2019, underscoring the growing trade between the UAE and African countries despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Whilst this past year has been an extraordinary one for Africa and the global economy, it has also been a testament to the breadth of opportunities and market resilience that Africa continues to present.
In specific sectors such as healthcare, agriculture and data centres have received a new lease of life and are anticipated to drive investor interest in the continent.
