A leader in landscape scale restoration and nature recovery, Oxygen Conservation is transforming land management and tackling climate change through innovative conservation practices, including:

  • Space for wildlife: working with local communities and conservation groups to develop and implement sustainable land management practices that support the restoration of natural ecosystems.
  • Education and learning: collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to leverage expertise and resources, encouraging others to become ambassadors for change.
  • Clean water: improvements to the water quality of the rivers, lakes and streams on each site to increase biodiversity.
  • Carbon storage: protecting and enhancing existing carbon stores, such as woodland and peatland, while also encouraging natural systems to absorb and store more carbon through woodland regeneration, targeted tree planting, and peatland restoration.

Choosing to work with Oxygen Conservation

A fresh, innovative approach in a world that increasingly demands solutions for climate change and environmental degradation is essential, and in a sector where traditional practices are being reevaluated, Oxygen Conservation is thinking differently - exactly why we wanted to partner with them.

The collaboration between Knight Frank and Oxygen Conservation is a natural alignment of values. As a global leader in real estate consultancy, Knight Frank is committed to supporting sustainable practices in every aspect of our business. Oxygen Conservation’s forward-thinking approach to natural capital fits perfectly with the work we’re doing for our clients and their rural properties, enabling us to jointly lead the way in addressing environmental issues.

What began as a sponsorship of Oxygen Conservation’s podcast, the Shoot Room Sessions, has grown into a powerful partnership—an opportunity to amplify the impact of their work. By supporting the team’s mission, we’re supporting broader conversations around scaling conservation, restoring habitats, improving biodiversity and inspiring positive change.

James Farrell, Partner & Head of Rural Consultancy at Knight Frank, explains: “We are incredibly proud to be associated with Oxygen Conservation. Their work represents the future of land management, and we are excited to support their pioneering efforts.

“This partnership is particularly exciting because it allows both brands to tap into new markets, where sustainability and environmental impact are not just afterthoughts but key drivers of success. It’s a shared commitment to building a greener future.”

Oxygen Conservation project: natural capital in action

Recently, members of our team also had the opportunity to witness Oxygen Conservation’s work in action. Taking a trip to Oxygen’s Invergeldie Estate, a 12,000-acre estate located in the stunning Scottish Highlands. Previously a traditional sporting estate, Invergeldie is now being managed with a strong focus on landscape scale restoration, including woodland creation and peatland management.

The estate’s breathtaking views and natural assets make it an exceptional case study in land management and ecological restoration. Oxygen Conservation is applying its expertise to restore the estate's natural ecosystems, focusing on increasing biodiversity and supporting climate resilience. Their restoration practices are designed not only to enhance the landscape but also to create long-term environmental benefits that contribute to the region’s natural capital.

A recent visit by our Knight Frank Rural Consultancy team was a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Claire Whitfield, Partner, Rural Consultancy (Northern region), comments: “Seeing natural capital in action - whether restoring peatlands or reforesting areas - gives us a deeper understanding of the importance of these practices in addressing climate change. The enthusiasm and energy of the Oxygen team were infectious, and it’s clear that their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas are exactly what the sector needs.”

Looking ahead: a future of collaboration

As mentioned above this partnership began with the sponsorship of the Shoot Room Sessions Podcast. This platform allows us to engage with experts and share valuable insights on sustainable land management and conservation practices. Through this sponsorship, we’re helping to raise awareness of the importance of nature recovery and highlighting the role that businesses like Knight Frank can play in driving positive environmental change.

James Farrell sums it up: “It’s thrilling to be part of this journey. Oxygen Conservation is breaking new ground in land management, and as a sponsor of their podcast, we can help amplify their message to a wider audience. This is a space where we can both learn and contribute.”

As we continue our partnership, we’re excited about the potential for collaboration across multiple initiatives. Rich Stockdale, Founder of Oxygen Conservation, concludes: “With Knight Frank by our side, we can amplify the incredible work happening throughout the sector, reaching new people in new ways and inviting them into the exciting future of conservation-led asset management.

“At its core, this partnership is about amplifying the stories and people doing incredible things across the rural economy. Knight Frank’s exceptional ability to bridge the divide between rural property management and financial innovation is perfectly aligned with our mission to scale conservation and integrate natural capital into mainstream investment portfolios. Together, we can help the environmental sector break free from its siloes, crafting a new narrative where conservation is not only a moral responsibility but also a compelling economic opportunity.”
