Prior to the pandemic the UK was the busiest screen production hub in the world, and demand for sound stages was already far outstripping supply because of the UK’s attractiveness as a production destination.

As the rise of streamers continues to shake up the dynamics of the screen entertainment industry, a “global deluge” of Film and TV production has developed and it is now estimated that up to 4 million sq ft of sound stages is needed in the UK to meet the current demand. Major new players have entered the market to build studios, and new ways of creating stage space have been developed.
