_Exceptional Woman: Meet Natalie Wong

March 27, 2022

Natalie Wong participated in the Knight Frank Hong Kong internship programme when she was a university student.  She got completely inspired by the senior leadership and immediately wanted to become as passionate and successful.  Natalie took charge of her career and joined the firm as a graduate trainee right after her graduation and is now a Senior Director leading the valuation and advisory department.  Her team is handling property valuation and is specialised in development consultancy.

Natalie has been nominated as one of our Exceptional Women 2022 due to her passion, positivity, and dedication. The editorial team has spent some time with Natalie to get to know her and understand what is behind her success.

How do you ensure you bring your best every day?

Natalie Wong: I Love my work and I am passionate about learning new things.  Challenges come up daily, but I see them as an opportunity to learn something new or unique that enhances my knowledge in the ever-changing real estate sector.

Providing high-quality valuation and advisory services requires dedication but I do not have to do it alone.  I like to tap into my brilliant team, collaborate and provide the best solutions for our clients.  Maintaining a strong team culture, a happy, equal, and open-minded work environment help me do my very best at work.

How do you contribute to a more inclusive environment in the workplace?

NW: I take a mindful and open approach to work.  Not only do I share my views and experience with my teammates, but I also listen to them actively.  My team is very diverse, and everyone comes from different countries and backgrounds.  We have regular sharing sessions to talk about the projects we handle.  Everyone is encouraged to give comments or raise questions.  I like to always remind everyone to embrace each other’s differences, ideas and most importantly to respect each other.

Relating to this year’s Women International day theme #BreakTheBias, how do you think you could contribute to breaking the bias?

NW: I will continue to maintain a diverse, equal, and inclusive working environment for my team and the wider business.  I will continue to ensure everyone’s voice is heard, be fair and give them equal opportunity to grow and develop regardless of background or gender.

I will also break the bias by leading by example and walking the talk – be a proactive working mum in the surveying field, demonstrate to others in the industry that women can reach the stars professionally, and confidently inspire other women to be more ambitious and aim higher!
