_The Bryanston: Rafael Viñoly’s iconic Hyde Park residential development completes

Developer Almacantar’s Marble Arch super-prime development completed earlier this month, making the 54-residence The Bryanston the tallest residential building to overlook Hyde Park. Conceived by Uruguayan starchitect Rafael Viñoly, the long-awaited development offers residents extraordinary views in an iconic central London location.

Rising 18 storeys above its central London prestigious address, the development is composed of two elements: The podium, with its curved terraces, and the tower, which provides 360° cityscape views into Hyde Park and the City.

As the tallest residential address to overlook Hyde Park – the last of its kind in Westminster after new planning laws were introduced - generosity of space and embracing green living are key influencers in Viñoly’s design.

Describing the development, Rupert des Forges, Head of Prime Central London Developments said: “The curvature of the tower and the large panoramic windows have been specially designed to maximize the views, giving the impression that you are suspended above 350 acres of protected, historic parkland in the heart of the city.”

Three metre floor-to-ceiling heights and curved full-height windows offer protected southerly vistas across Hyde Park.

Highlighting just how rare prime residential real estate is on the fringes of Hyde Park, especially at this scale, is new research published in Knight Frank's report on Park Living, which found that less than half of the buildings located along Hyde Park’s 6km of park frontage are residential.

Data also shows that only 6% offer modern, luxury apartments and by 2023 there will be fewer than 10 park-facing apartments for sale at any one time.

Viñoly's vision for The Bryanston has residents' health and wellbeing at its core with staggering levels of care and attention to detail dedicated to enhancing the lifestyle of those that call the development home.

Supporting life satisfaction, happiness and green living is the development's proximity to, and unrivalled views over, Grade I listed Hyde Park with a total of 54 apartments on offer, ranging between one and five-bed units. 64% of the development’s residences benefit from this unparalleled southerly vista across the 350-acre green space.

It is also the first residential building in the UK to register for the leading global markers for healthy buildings, WELL and AirScore.

All 54 residences are fitted with dedicated air-handling units that regulate temperature and humidity and remove particulates, carbon monoxide and pollen through concealed ducts and vents.

Bringing together the best in global design, London based practice, Millier, has created interiors for The Bryanston’s newly opened show apartment with inspiration taken from the classic design of a Mayfair townhouse.

A sense of luxury and wellness is continued in The Bryanston's amenities. Covering two storeys, they include a health spa and a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, experience shower, sauna, steam room, relaxation areas and private treatment room.

These sit alongside a residents’ gym and private training rooms which are serviced by Scandinavian personal trainers MER World. The amenities are complemented by 24-hour security, concierge services managed by Rhodium, a cinema suite and magical children’s play space.

The Bryanston is the latest completed project by Almacantar, and represents part of the developer's wider Marble Arch Place master plan which has in its pipeline the creation of 95,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, seven new restaurants, retail and leisure units all centred around new public realm.

Prices start from £2,400,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.
