Estate agents in the Biarritz area have said the French resort offers lower prices to other seaside resorts in the country.
In addition to its qualities of good scenery, strong reputation for surfing and good nightlife, agents stated that property in the city of Biarritz is cheaper than that on the Cote D'Azur, Property Wire reports.
Bertie Sanderson of Erna Low Property told the portal: "Biarritz is a much loved region of France where strong capital growth is most certainly anticipated."
He added that it is "a fabulous and affordable coastal alternative to the busy and expensive south of France".
Further qualities of the city include the proximity to the Spanish border, which for international property investors may mean that property can be let out to holidaymakers who can enjoy the culture of two countries.
According to tourist website Time Out, the best time to be in Biarritz is the summer, which features French, Spanish and Basque-themed festivals and nightly fireworks displays in July and August.
